PROFESSOR: Today's lecture continues the thing we're doing with scattering states. We send in a scattering state. That is an energy eigenstate that cannot be normalized into a step barrier. And we looked at what could happen. And we saw all kinds of interesting things happening. There was reflection and transmission when the energy was higher than the barrier. And there was just reflection and a little exponential decay in the forbidden region if the energy was lower than the energy of the barrier. We also observed when we did the packet analysis that a wave packet sent in would have a delay in coming back out. It doesn't come out immediately. And that's the property of those complex numbers that entered into the reflection coefficient. Those complex numbers were a phase that had an energy dependence. so um today's session is on sustaining group-based businesses and our our question to kind of get things started today is in your opinion what's the role of group-based businesses um Group B group-based business development in the work we do for economic political and social justice how does this connect with the larger mission of creating a more just Society because before we talk about sustaining these businesses it's like why do we want them in the first place why are we why are we doing that anybody have some ideas that well I think we're very constrained by the corporations that in our country around the world and we can't you know and even foundations that f social justice work and so we have to figure out ways to raise money and support our own work and find alternative models of Business Development and switch things up why why else are we interested in I think of some of the conversation that we had last night and it's very much sounded li...
