Lab 11 Silicon Photovoltaics

supplies for this lab you will need cleaved pieces of boron doped silicon spin-on phosphorus dopent a pipetter or dropper glass etent cream cotton swabs solder wires Gallum indiia mctic and tweezers step step one applying the spin-on dopent this portion of the lab requires a spin coater and a hot plate and should be performed in a fume Hood first open the lid to the spin coater you will see a black o-ring on a vacuum Chuck that will hold your sample as it spins grab a piece of boron do silicon with your tweezers now place the Silicon piece on top of the vacuum Chuck the piece should be roughly centered on the Chuck and and must completely cover the black o-ring to ensure a good vacuum seal press the blue vacuum soft key to turn on the vacuum next open up the bottle of spin-on dopent and pipe it out a small volume of solution apply several drops of the spinon dopen to the Silicon piece the drops should completely cover the surface close the spin coater lid and press the st...

hello and welcome to Lab One my name is yugu and I will be walking you through the important steps of this lab let's go over the components you will need for the lab one preab you will need two paper clips a standard paper cup a desize battery about a meter of Armature wire which is copper wire one bar magnet piece of sandpaper a pair of wire cut ERS a 9V battery and of course a battery strap now you are all set Begin by placing the paper cup upside down and squeezing the magnet between the ledges this should hold the magnet tightly now bend the paper clips as shown these will provide both support for the rotor as well as electrical contacts for the battery insert the paper clips between the ledge and the side of the magnet as shown do the same for both you done with the first part of the assembly to make the rotor you will need the D sized battery take the Armature wire and wind it around the battery about 10 to 15 times secure the Armature loops with the remaining w...
