Instructor Interview Teaching Students How to Solve Creative Problems as Teams

PHILIP TAN: So when students come into class on their first day, they usually expect to walk in and start working on their dream game right away, and that's just not going to happen. They have a lot to learn. Simply to learn about working with their teammates-- figure out who else is in the class and what skills they bring to bear. And chances are they haven't really thought all that much about the game design that they want to make. And usually their very first idea, the idea that you've been nursing ever since high school or something, isn't the best idea for a single semester project. We get a lot of students who want to make the next Legend of Zelda-- maybe trying to remake Skyrim but in 2D, and they think they're scoping it down, but they're not. At the end of the day, you probably want to ask, how is this a successful project? And if you recall that we map on the blackboard about many stakeholder people went into that. So I think I would encourage you to think about-- to evaluate the success of a decision or not from the different stakeholder perspectives. So let's first take a look at the developer. Winthrop Center has been decided to go to construction between 2016 to 2018. So let's see where the market is at the 2019. So the biggest deal in 2019, in the same submarket, Boston CBD area, is 100 Summer Street. That building is a single glazed curtain wall, very broad building. And that was transacted at 4 cap. So this is the market signal saying that, in the asset market, the buyer or the market isn't really considering any green premium in the tra...
