In some ways, what we do is truly magical, because we get to help produce the MIT content thousands of people use every day. And we're happy to share it with you, share with you some of the inner workings of what it takes to make OCW courses and materials. I'm Yvonne Ng, and I help run the annual giving and donor relations for MIT Open Learning. We're still celebrating 20 years of OpenCourseWare reaching more than 200 million people around the world, and we want to recognize everyone who's used or supported the site. PROFESSOR: Good afternoon and welcome back. I'm glad you all came back even though there was a problem in finding a seat for every one last time. I would like you to turn in the problem set if you've been able to do it. If you haven't been able to do it, that's no great problem, but I hope you find it mildly amusing. I have given that problem set out a couple of times over the years, and I can recall one very pale student who appeared at my door the next morning saying it's the first problem set, you've only talked an hour and I can't do it. And then there was another group of three who formed a consortium to attempt to solve the code using a computer. They didn't get very far either. This is an interesting sort of problem because it requires you to think in a slightly different direction than you're accustomed to thinking, and therefore it's a little bit amusing. thank you uh good afternoon my name is Shen banagi I'm one of the nine students part of this class group that has worked on a series of Economic Development proposals for the North End before we begin I just wanted to introduce my colleague Annis who is from mit's open courseware open course Weare is a great resource that MIT developed a few years ago to take some of the ideas are generated in our classes and make them available to the world through the worldwide web it's a great way this particular class has been able to assist other similar communities across the US and so I just want to let you know the filming is taking place right now if anyone would like not to be a part of the film could they let us know preferably now and we'll make sure not to capture you um as a part of the record of this meeting we have some bags right alternatively but but if anybody has any other concerns or questions please feel free to ask either me or Alice about that um so...
