Cape Cod Trip Cranberry Bog

doing is these are uh cranberry bogs that are being flooded for harvest and so um this is just a uh a pond he uses to have a volume of water to be able to pump out and he's pumping it with the tractor right here that's a pump and he's flooding the bogs and and what they do is they get the water above the plants and we'll go a little further down and you'll see what they look like when they're not flooded the flagging indicates where the ditches are so when they come out with their machinery to get the berries they don't fall in the ditches that are now underwater okay all right so so um and what they'll do is they come out with these machines that have beaters it almost looks like a paddle wheel on a boat and they'll drive them back and forth on here and it shakes the berry the bushes up and the berries all float to the surface then they use booms and they bring them all to one place and they suck them into a truck so here's cranber...

6. Oxidation and the SiSiO2 Interface. DealGrove Model, Thin Oxide Models

JUDY HOYT: Doing right now is hopefully, you're all reading chapter 6, which covers the process of thermal oxidation. Last time, we talked about general introduction to thermal oxides in silicon CMOS. And we also talked about the metal oxide silicon or semiconductor capacitor and how electrical simple CD measurements can be used to understand the quality of the oxide and the charges that exist in that structure. This time, we're going to cover a basic model called the Deal-Grove. This is after the two people, that's Bruce Deal and Andy Grove, who came up with this linear parabolic oxidation model. It really remains the basic model used today. And then we'll talk about examples on how to use it. And we'll finish up with other models of planar oxidation that are very useful in the very thin oxide regime. So I'm just curious, how many people here have known or not known but have heard about the Deal-Grove oxidation model? So about maybe a little less ...

31. Exam Review (Intro to Solid-State Chemistry)

How is everyone doing today? [CHEERING] You know why there's a lot of excitement, and I saw the silent praise, because I know what this means, recently, and I'm doing more and more. You guys are excited, because we are celebrating something on Friday. We are celebrating knowledge, we are celebrating chemistry, and we are celebrating how much we've learned in the last month. It's called exam three. Woo. It's a midterm. Thank you for that. What I thought we'd do today instead of-- again, I mentioned this on Monday. You guys just had Thanksgiving, you're back, and now we've got a test. And I know you've got a lot of other stuff going on too at this time. So instead of throwing something in that we're not going to test you on, what I wanted to do with today was just to kind of feel our oneness with the concepts. All right?
