uh so we're definitely now starting into the wavelet book uh our starting point of course is is the idea of a filter which is um much much older and and more widely used and and generally more fundamental than wavelets but it leads us to wavelets this way uh so we're going to today is this lecture is focuses on individual filters then we'll see well those do wonderful things to a signal but they're not so easily invertible you you lose information when you filter and uh so if you want a transform that has an inverse we'll see that to combine a couple of filters is one one is a very neat way to do it so this use of the word Banks simply means that we have two or more filters acting together so this is what's coming so so this this was this is coming this is coming and this single filter is now okay so so filter Banks uh coming uh actually probably in the very next lecture so so the syllabus as I had outlined it I think I can do say what I want to sa...
